The Riviot brand.

Our logo, colors, type and words, with the files to download. For our team, our partners and the press.

The Riviot logotype on its grid: 156 by 32 units, stems 8 units, every gap 4 units, with two 45-degree lines carried through the letters.

The logotype.

Our name, drawn on a grid. The Is are flagged 1s and the O is a 0, so Riviot is written in ones and zeros.

The 0's top-right corner is cut at 45 degrees and filled with cyan. The same cut marks frames, buttons and scorecards across everything we make.

For dark grounds

How it is built.

  • The unit, u, is a 32nd of the cap height. Every point sits on a whole unit.
  • Stems and bars are 8u. The gap between letters is 4u, every time.
  • Every edge is horizontal, vertical or at 45 degrees. There are no curves.
  • Two lines carry through: the first 1's flag runs on into the r's cut, and the second 1's flag runs down the inside of the V.
  • 156 × 32u in all.

The mark.

A bar half the width of a 1, a gap of the same width, then the logotype's 0.

Use it where the logotype would be too small: app icons, favicons and profile pictures.

App icon and favicon.

The mark sits at 62% of the tile, centered by eye. The favicon is redrawn on whole pixels, so it stays sharp at 16 px.

Using the logo.

Four versions.

Ink and cyan
White and cyan
Black
White

Ink and cyan. For white and light grounds.

White and cyan. For dark grounds and photographs under a dark scrim.

Black. When only one color prints: stamps, embroidery, newsprint.

White. One color on a dark ground.

In one color the corner is left out, and the 0 shows its cut.

Clear space.

Keep space of at least half the logo's height on every side. Nothing else enters it.

Smallest sizes.

32 px22 px18 px32 px24 px16 px

On screen the logotype is at least 18 px tall (85 px wide) and the mark at least 16 px tall. Below that, use the mark. The favicon is drawn on whole pixels for its small size.

In print the logotype is at least 25 mm wide and the mark at least 8 mm tall.

Please don’t.

Don’t Stretch or squash it.
Don’t Turn it.
Don’t Round its corners.
Don’t Move the cyan to another corner.
Don’t Change the corner’s color.
Don’t Add shadows or glows.
Don’t Draw it as an outline.
Don’t Retype it in a font.

Color.

Neutrals, and one cyan. The cyan is the logo’s corner and almost nothing else.

  • Cyan#00EEFFRGB 0 238 2551.4:1 on whiteThe logo's corner, and one highlight at a time.
  • Cyan marks one thing at a time: the logo's corner, one cut corner or one small marker.
  • It is never text, a line or a background.
  • On white it is 1.4:1, so it never carries meaning on its own.

Cyan #00EEFF is a screen color. For print, ask us for the matching ink.

  • Sentence case everywhere, buttons too. Headlines end with a full stop.
  • Mono is for codes, units and labels, never for sentences.
  • 11 px is the smallest size. Text is ink or white, never cyan.

Shape.

Square corners, and one cut. The logo has no curves, so neither does anything we make.

  • Frames, panels, cards, images and tables are square.
  • Buttons, fields and tags take 2 px corners. Nothing is round.
  • One frame on a page takes the 0's cut: top right, at 45 degrees, about 4.5% of its width.
  • Buttons take a small cut when you hover over them or focus them. They never move.

A frame: square, with the cut at 4.5% of its width

Hover over or tab to a button.

Drawings.

Our drawings explain something real: a rack, a hall, a cable run. They are never wallpaper behind words.

Hall planHall 2: three rows of cabinets on a 600 mm raised floor, Rack 14 marked. Illustrative.
  • Lines at 0.5, 0.75, 1 and 1.5 px. Straight, or at 45 degrees.
  • Labels in mono, 11 px at least, in sentence case or plain codes.
  • One cyan marker at most: the thing that matters.
  • Never drawn over a photograph of a person.
Dimension chain

Annotations
Labels and leaders on drawings and on photographs of hardware.

Photography.

Real people doing real work, in real places. Cool light, deep blacks, hands on the kit.

What we photograph.

  • One person, side-lit, working on the kit.
  • Hardware on its own: a rack face, a hall with no one in it.
  • Real sites and real work. Nothing staged.

What we leave out.

  • Posing.
  • Headsets and pointing.
  • Faces lit by a screen.
  • Warm color casts.

One grade for every photograph and film: cool, with deep blacks, the equipment lights kept.

The photographs on this site are stand-ins until Riviot’s own shoot.

Words.

We write for experts. Keep it simple, straight-talking and knowledgeable, with no jargon.

  • Sentences under 20 words, paragraphs under 60. Lead with what the reader gets.
  • Evidence over adjectives. Every statistic links to its source.
  • Sentence case, including buttons. Headlines end with a full stop.
  • No exclamation marks, no rhetorical questions, no em dashes.
  • We are “we”, and the reader is “you”.

Names.

Riviot
In running text, always Riviot. Never all capitals, and never spelled the way the logo draws it.
Vio
Our vetting app. Never VIO, never “our AI”.
Scorecard
What Vio produces for each engineer. Never “talent card”.

Claims.

Engineers are tested, scored and checked. Never “verified”, “elite” or “top X%”. Anything an engineer tells us that we have not checked is labeled declared.
